About
Brittany K. Puzey represents clients in criminal defense, family law, Child Protective Services (CPS) and general civil matters throughout Northern Nevada. A former prosecutor, Brittany brings confident, strategic advocacy to cases where liberty, reputation, and family relationships are at stake.
Brittany represents clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies in Nevada state courts, including DUI, domestic violence, and other serious charges. She also represents clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody/visitation, child support, spousal support, post-decree disputes, and CPS investigations and dependency proceedings.
Prior to joining Berkich Lucey Law Group, Brittany served as a Deputy District Attorney with the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office, where she was entrusted with prosecuting some of the most serious and disturbing criminal cases in the jurisdiction. As an attorney assigned to the Child Advocacy Center (CAC), she led prosecutions involving serial sexual offenders and crimes against children, often in cases involving abuse of positions of trust, including coaches, educators, and other authority figures. She worked closely with law enforcement, CPS, forensic interviewers, and medical professionals to routinely secure convictions in matters carrying multiple potential life sentences. Her work placed her among a small group of prosecutors tasked with the most complex and high-stakes cases, giving Brittany rare insight into how the State builds its strongest prosecutions—and how to dismantle them when defending clients.
In addition to her courtroom background, Brittany has held senior leadership and litigation roles within Northern Nevada’s legal community. She previously served as Executive Director of Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevadans, a nonprofit legal aid organization representing indigent victims of domestic violence in family law matters, and as Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Sparks, where she represented the City in high-profile civil litigation. These roles refined her judgment, discretion, and ability to manage matters with significant personal and public impact.
Brittany is known for her commanding courtroom presence and persuasive advocacy, with a reputation for delivering when it matters most. She excels at reading the room and adapting strategy on the fly—bringing clarity, precision, and decisive action to high-pressure moments where the stakes are high and the margin for error is small. She works closely with clients to explain their options, assess risk, and develop strategies grounded in both the facts and the realities of the courtroom. Whether negotiating resolution or taking a case to trial, Brittany is a confident and formidable advocate at every stage.
Brittany earned her Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, where she was awarded a full-tuition academic scholarship, served as an editor of the Nevada Law Journal, and received multiple awards for excellence in trial advocacy and legal writing. She also studied international criminal law in The Hague, Netherlands. Brittany earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno.
A lifelong Nevadan and third generation attorney, Brittany was born and raised in Carson City, graduated from Douglas High School in Gardnerville, and has lived and practiced law throughout Northern and Southern Nevada. Her statewide experience provides a practical understanding of Nevada courts, agencies, and legal culture.
Outside of her legal work, Brittany is a devoted mother of three. She enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending time with her children as they grow and thrive within the Northern Nevada community she has always called home. A former elite athlete, she is a first-ballot inductee into the University of Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame (softball) and member of the Douglas High School Hall of Fame (basketball), experiences that reflect the discipline, leadership, and composure she brings to her legal practice.
Brittany is committed to providing strategic, disciplined, fearless advocacy to clients facing serious legal challenges—standing beside them to protect their rights, their families, and their futures when it matters most.
